Our Business Information Systems programme helps teach you the knowledge and expertise to participate in the development, implementation and management of business computing projects.

We collaborate extensively with the industry and are partners with leading companies including Hewlett-Packard, IBM and Oracle. Our partners provide direct teaching input to the programme, so your learning is informed by industry. These partnerships also offer personal mentoring schemes, preferred placement opportunities and professional qualifications, including  PRINCE2 Project Management  accreditation and foundation studies in  Information Technology Information Library, commonly known as ITIL.

The modules you’ll study include Mathematics and Business Management, covering the basic techniques for data collection, summary and presentation, as well as Visual Web Development which introduces the fundamentals of programming, and Devices and Networks which teaches computing fundamentals from data representation to computer components.

From there, you will progress onto modules including IT Service Management, Agile Methods and Development, as well as Database Design and Systems Thinking, where you’ll explore the key concepts and tools for understanding and developing complex activity systems.

Optional modules include Project Management PRINCE2, IT Service Foundations, Database Management and Programming, Privacy and Data Protection, Research Methods and Big Data and Business Models.
