Course Overview
The Cardiff School of Management (CSM) Masters of Business Administration (Executive) has been developed in conjunction with the Chartered Management Institution (CMI) syllabuses to develop you as an effective manger and future leader. The CSM Executive MBA could be the catalyst your career needs to move to a more senior role or function or it could enable you to develop beyond your technical specialism. The programme is focussed on building a deeper understanding of core business and management disciplines and learning how they link together strategically and operationally.
The core elements of CSM Executive MBA - strategic management, operations management, strategic marketing, human resource management (HRM) and accounting, economic and finance (AEF) are delivered through intensive modular input in weekend blocks, with additional online activities, real business projects to encourage a deeper understanding, with a strong emphasis on interactive teaching and learning. The elective modules allow you to specialise in areas of change management, professional consultancy, project management and six-sigma.
Learning & Teaching
The Executive MBA is designed to:
Be action-oriented - the programme design, with its work-based assignments and leadership challenges, helps you apply your learning and ensure that as your abilities grow, your organisation reaps the benefits.
Build a foundation of knowledge - on the Executive MBA we help you grow your knowledge from the ground up via core courses that refresh your existing skills and secure your understanding of key management topics.
Offers customised learning - which will give you the ideal opportunity to broaden your experience, focus on subjects of particular interest and tailor your Executive MBA to your specific needs.
Provide a hands-on approach - to management topics, inviting business leaders and thinkers into the programme to work with you on live case studies that allow you to explore new industries and test new approaches.
Offer complete flexibility - modules are completed in self-contained blocks. The programme can be completed within two to five years with the option to vary the number of modules taken each year to suit your lifestyle, work and personal commitments.
Focus on leadership development - which is geared to developing your knowledge of business functions and their interactions, and to building your ability to manage and lead in complex organisational situations. It dovetails seamlessly with our existing, highly successful portfolio of leadership courses.
The programme is completed in weekend study (normally one weekend a month) and is comprised of five core subjects, two electives and finally a management report.
