This qualification will give you the core skills you need to study at tertiary level and provide you with an opportunity to pathway into one of our Level 3 or 4 health programmes or New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) Nursing Studies.
You will get hands-on learning of which some will be in our state-of-the-art clinical learning suite.
Our supportive learning environment will enable you to build your confidence and independence throughout your journey.
At the Manukau campus, you will have access to a Kaiawhina, a Pasifika support person, a Whanau and a Mā Tātou room.
You will need to complete the below three courses (60 credits):
141.320 Mathematics in Practice (15 credits)
The purpose of this course is to develop and expand your knowledge and understanding of numeracy through real-world learning experiences, in order to meet the varied demands of your personal life, study and intended career destination
161.306 Pathway Projects (30 credits)
The purpose of this course is to develop and expand your knowledge and understanding of Science through real-world learning experiences. It will also enable you to progressively apply, consolidate and demonstrate the skills and knowledge developed in Science, Numeracy and Literacy in order to meet the varied demands of your personal life, study and intended career destination.
181.336 Communication in Practice (15 credits)
The purpose of this course is to develop and expand your knowledge and understanding of literacy through real-world learning experiences, in order to meet the varied demands of your personal life, study and intended career destination.

You'll require between $20,000 and $25,000 a year ($380–480 per week) for housing/rent, food, transportation, phone bills, internet usage, and entertainment, in addition to your tuition and insurance fees. The average living expense will be the same for everyone, regardless of their tuition or course price. Please keep in mind that these are only suggestions; the Immigration New Zealand requirement is $15,000 per year including return travel or an additional $2,000.
