Graduate Profile
"I graduated from LIT in November 2017 with a BBS in Law & Taxation. The four years leading up to the graduation were amazing. I enjoyed my four years of study in LIT. I found the modules offered by LIT covered all bases whether you were interested in pursuing a career in tax, business or law. The BBS in Law and Taxation, is the only undergraduate course in Ireland which offers such an in-depth exploration of tax at an undergraduate level. You are also exempt from Part 1 of the Tax Institute Examinations, this is a huge advantage and looks incredibly attractive to prospective employers. Offering LIT students, the best possible kick start for a career in tax.
The law modules offered in the course provide a great basis for any student who has an interest to work within the law realm. All eight topics which are examined by the Law Society in the Fe1’s is covered in extensive detail by the lecturers in LIT. It also ensures those with an interest in moving on to complete a Masters or Doctorate in Law are fully prepared. I was awarded a scholarship to complete a Masters in General Law at the University of Limerick based on the results achieved in LIT.
Since completing my Masters, I’ve now started my career as a Tax Trainee in BDO Limerick and absolutely love the diversity of tax we cover on a daily basis. I am currently enrolled to commence my Fe1’s and Part 2 Tax Exams this year. The achievement’s all the graduates from BBS in Law & Taxation have achieved is a testament to the amazing lecturers, who motivated and supported us through the four years and helped us all get the best from our studies and ourselves!
I would strongly encourage anyone with an interest in either to give the BBS in Law & Taxation a shot. It was the best decision I’ve made!"
