About Hotel Front Office Management – Higher Certificate In Business in Limerick Institute of Technology
What is the programme about?
This programme is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and competencies for supervisory management in a hotel front office. A graduate will have developed practical and unique skills to enter the front office operations of businesses in the broad tourism and hotel sectors.
A compulsory summer work placement within the front office of a hospitality organisation forms part of this programme, giving students hands-on experience and an edge upon graduation.
The programme has professional links with the Irish Hotels Federation, Irish Hospitality Institute and Fáilte Ireland.
Who is the programme suited to?
This programme will suit individuals who want to pursue a progressive career in both the Irish and international hospitality industry with a specialisation in Hotel Front Office Management. The opportunity to travel and work in this dynamic and exciting sector is always worthy of consideration.
Front Office staff have a keen intuition that allows them to anticipate needs and exceed expectations of their guests. They have excellent communication skills, can multi-task, are team-oriented, and work diligently to resolve issues when they arise.
As the communications centre of the hotel, the Front Office is often a stepping stone for entry-level managers.
