What is the programme about?
The B.Sc. (Honours) in Game Art & Design targets the creative needs of the games industry by producing graduates who can develop high quality game content, design game levels and work with industry leading content creation tools, scripting languages and game engines.
In addition to developing student’s artistic skills, students of the programme acquire the skills to produce compelling game content for various gaming applications and platforms. The graduates of this programme possess a well-developed understanding of both the creative and technical processes involved in producing game content.
The B.Sc. (Honours) in Game Art & Design is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to work in the games industry as games artists, content creators and designers. The programme embodies the multidisciplinary nature of the games sector and seeks to address the demand for game art & design skills both nationally and internationally.

Students who successfully complete the BSc (Honours) in Game Art and Design will be eligible for a wide range of taught and research Level 9 Masters programmes in Ireland and abroad.
Entry Requirement
Leaving Certificate (2018): The minimum entry requirements for standard entrance are a minimum of 2 H5 & 4 O6/H7 grades in six Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics and English or Irish. Applicants must also present of a portfolio of selected work for assessment.
FETA Applicants: The following entry arrangements will apply to graduates of QQI FETA (Formerly FETAC) programmes seeking admission to programmes at Institutes of Technology. The minimum entry requirement for graduates of FETAC (NCVA level 5 or 6) awards to Higher Certificate (QQI level 6) programmes is a full QQI FETAC (level 5 or 6) award including a distinction grade in at least three modules. Applicants must also present a portfolio of selected work for assessment.
Awarded Points for entry are based a combination of Leaving Certificate/FETA QQI results and Portfolio Assessment results.
