Course summary
Lectures, tutorials, experiential, peer assessments and a research dissertation constitute the pedagogical means used. The programme is currently offered full time and through the ACCS mode. The programme aims to impart a knowledge and understanding of the management of human, physical, financial and other resources required for the delivery of programmes in early education in addition to associated research methods and ethical considerations for the development of standard practice and children’s rights in early education.
Career
The BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education & Care contains both theoretical and practical modules with a strong research and management focus and it is envisaged that the majority of graduates will find employment either working in a managerial capacity directly with children; setting up and managing their own childcare centres or working within the HSE & Childcare Committees as regional coordinators or project managers etc. Additionally, it is anticipated that graduates will be in a position to contribute nationally to the development of policy and provision within the sector.
Academic qualification equivalents
- Class 12 passed students from a recognized board including CBSE, CISCE or a state board
- All India Senior School Certificate or Higher Secondary Certificate/Standard 12 or Indian School Certificate (Year 12) as recognized qualifications
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS 6.5 overall (6.0 for Business programmes)
- IELTS 5.5 in all four components (listening, reading, speaking and writing)
- PTE 60 (63 for integrated programmes)
- PTE 55 in all four components (listening, reading, speaking and writing)
