Our new programme aims to educate the next generation of managers - Business talents with global and creative mindsets who deal with different environments and unexpected changes.
"International Management - Focus on Creative Management" links cutting-edge international management theories with creative approaches. You acquire advanced management knowledge from a variety of areas including strategy and project management, law, finance, contract and risk management. Thanks to this variety you are able to evaluate businesses and find ways to develop companies.
During the programme you are based in Berlin, Germany’s creative and cultural hub. You get to experience the learning environments of two Berlin campuses – each with a different academic focus, one focused on business, the other one on the creative industries and popular arts.
The "Creative Management" focus equips you with expertise on how to manage companies in all business fields as well as creative businesses in areas such as arts, music, film or others within the creative industries. You learn how to apply creative leadership methods in your approach towards day-to-day business and know how to engage in new, more spontaneous, and more innovative ways of managing.
Content, Objective and Course Structure
The English-speaking programme “International Management – Focus on Creative Management” deals with general management topics such as Global Strategies, Risk and Contract Management and Innovation and Project Management as well as arts-based management methods and techniques. Students get hands-on experience in internships and projects and get to strenghten their soft, networking and leadership skills.
You get to implement marketing strategies and increase your knowledge on how to efficiently use digital business tools and technological innovation strategies. Creative industries organisations in particular need managers who are able to bridge, balance and negotiate between the world of business and the world of arts.
You are taught how to apply artistic methods such as storytelling, visual, musical or performative methods to your research. Your final thesis builds on creative methods or may use artful forms to communicate findings. These methods are also commonly applied to support change and innovation in organisations, and also help to enhance your own leadership personality.
While working on projects, you will generally improve your observation and communication skills and get to strengthen your negotiation, project management, intercultural and team-working skills. Equipped with a well-rounded management education that includes business and creative modules, you will become an expert who is able to work in a range of industries, professions and countries.
