PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Ontario Certificate program provides students with the knowledge and skills in scientific principles of Education and Fire Prevention in the Community, Fire Behaviour, Fire Ground Operations, Firefighter Emergency Patient Care, Environmental Protection and Rescue Operations as well as Introduction to the Fire Service. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to undertake provincial testing to meet the requirements of the Office of the Fire Marshal for certification as a firefighter under the NFPA 1001, NFPA 472, and NFPA 1006 Standards, and the ability to attain the NFPA 1002 Driver/Vehicle Operator designation if desired.

  • The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) recognizes graduates of the Pre Service Firefighter program as candidates for employment into the CAF.
  • St. Clair College works with 8 Municipal Fire Service Partners.
