Fanshawe's broadcast journalism program will allow you to hone your skills at Fanshawe's Broadcast Centre—Canada's first-ever CRTC-licensed college radio station and the country's premier broadcasting educational tool. And you'll get hands-on experience as a content producer for www.1069theX.com creating stories and video and connecting through social media professionally @XFMNews. Our journalism faculty know the broadcast radio and journalism industry inside-out and will share their real-world experience, so you'll graduate with the training you need to make an impact in the highly competitive journalism field.
Western University Articulation Agreement
Fanshawe College and Western University have developed an articulation agreement to allow qualified students to obtain both a two-year Journalism – Broadcast diploma and a four-year Bachelor of Arts honours degree with a major in Media, Information and Technoculture (MIT). Students who meet the requirements of the agreement can apply to transfer directly into the third year of the MIT program, and complete both credentials in four years. Career Opportunities
The program will prepare students for a career and employment in private and public broadcasting including radio and television news gathering services as Newscasters, On-Air Reporters, News Editors, News Writers, Sportscasters, Researchers, Current Affairs Producers and News Directors. Graduates also find employment with news gathering businesses.
