Established in1895 theUniversity of Texas at Arlington is an open research institution which is associated with the Universities Research Association and the Oak Ridge Associated University. In 1965, the university joined the University of Texas system. It is classified under the high-research activity institution. In 1905, the number of enrolments increased to 150 students. Initially, the university was known as the North Texas Agricultural College. Later on, in 1967, the university was renamed to its current name. The university has been recognised as an emerging research university in 1987.
The university campus is extended across an area of 420 acres. It features the biggest branch of a public library that consists of thousands of journals, books, magazines, research papers & documents and textbooks. The campus comprises College Hall, Preston Hall and Ransom Hall. These halls are among the earliest developed buildings on the campus. The students are provided with all the facilities required at the campus along with residential and dining facilities.
As the number of students increased, the university decided to expand its campus area and develop more buildings that include Nedderman Hall, Arlington Hall, CAPPA building, Texas Hall, the Common Room, the Engineering Research Building and the College of Business. The campus also comprises cafeterias and sports rooms. It is nearby many cafes and restaurants. Several medical shops, stationery shops and general stores are also close to the campus.
International applicants have the option to either submit ACT and/or SAT scores as part of the admission application process. The orgnzationholds SAT/ACT test scores as optional. International applicants can apply for admission without these test scores. Their application will be evaluated based on their high schools records such as GPA, class rank, and others.
The institute accepts TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo. Non-native English speaking applicants must submit one of the official test scores.
