About Suffolk University

Suffolk University is a private research university in Boston, Massachusetts, which is one of the largest cities in the United States. In 1906, the institute opened as a legal school, and in the 1930s, it became a university. It is classified as a Doctoral Research University by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The university's main campus, located in Boston, is home to the university's freshmen and undergraduates. In addition, it operates a separate international campus in Madrid. It is the eighth largest institution in the metropolitan city, with about 7,300 students on its Boston campus. There are almost 900 full-time and adjunct faculty members at the university. The university also has schools where students can receive further education.

It also provides undergraduate and graduate degrees in addition to joint degrees. The Suffolk Rams are one of the university's sports teams. In various varsity sports, these teams compete in NCAA Division III as members of the GNAC and the ECAC. Baseball, cross country, basketball, golf, indoor and outdoor track and field, ice hockey, soccer, softball, volleyball, and tennis are some of the sports available at the university.

Other research centres and institutes at the university include the Moakley Archives, Restorative Justice, Women's Health and Human Rights, Crime and Justice Policy Research, Political Research Centers, the Poetry Center, and the Sagan Energy Research Laboratory. Its Political Research Center performs a variety of scientific polls on regional and national politics.

The university is located in one of the country's largest cities and has a high reputation. Many important scholars, famous speakers, and politicians have given talks at the university, including Supreme Court Justice William Rehnquist, John F. Kennedy, and former US President George Herbert Walker Bush.
