Montana State University, founded in 1893, is a public land-grant university that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in fields such as arts, architecture, business, cultures, health, and humanities. This is the largest research university in Montana and the largest research and development organisation in any state. Under Geoffrey Gamble's presidency, the university implemented the Core 2.0 curriculum. Under this curriculum, students were encouraged to conduct research prior to completing their formal education.
