About Theatre in University of San Diego
Theatre at USD is home to actors, directors, playwrights and designers of the future. Our major, minor and MFA programs embrace theatre as a means to inspire humanity and engage a diverse society. Through collaborative artistic exploration, both undergraduate and graduate programs train the individual to create within the ensemble.
Through the lens of playmaking, the undergraduate program focuses on developing empathy, critical analysis, creative problem solving and changemaking — integral parts of the liberal arts education at USD. The MFA in Acting program trains actors for careers in the professional theatre with special emphasis on classical works.
