About Biomedical Engineering in University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus
Biomedical engineers combine mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and medicine to help solve medical and scientific health problems.
They are involved in medical device design fabrication and testing, prosthesis fabrication, ergonomics and human factors, physiological function monitoring, home health care technology development, biomedical informatics, and functional imaging and tomography.
They also conduct research in biomaterial development and biocompatibility, artificial tissue and organ fabrication, cell- and biomolecule-based sensors and therapeutics, gene therapy development, and biomedical microsystems.
