- Employ core technologies such as database, enterprise systems, e-commerce, business analytics, and networking
- Apply information technology to business problems by analyzing, designing, and implementing IT solutions
- Manage IT systems throughout their life cycle
MIS employs three related sets of skills:
- Technical skills such as database and business analytics to create a solution;
- System analysis and project management skills to design and manage the IT-based project; and
- A set of business courses including accounting, marketing, leadership, and teamwork to learn the language and theories of business -- that is, the environment that the IT.
