The Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Built Environments prepares students for careers creating sustainable built environments that align with their interests. In the General Emphasis, students are able to create their own specialized focus area from an approved list of emphasis courses with the consultation of advisors and expert faculty. The sustainability-focused emphasis courses span the subjects of architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, real estate development, and heritage conservation. These exciting combinations are an opportunity for students interested in pursuing careers in specialized areas such as urban agriculture (landscape architecture and urban planning), sustainable development and construction (architecture and real estate development), and adaptive building use and preservation (architecture and heritage conservation).
