About Geographic Information Systems Technology in University of Arizona
This degree is to offer courses in cutting edge geographic information science (GIS), and geographic information systems technology (GIST) to fill the growing worldwide demand for skilled geospatial professionals. The program is a series of modular, learner-centered and project-based courses that will train students in mathematical and computational thinking, problem solving, and oral and written communication. Upon graduation, students will also be technologically proficient in basic GIS programming, project management, spatial data integration and management, and the production of spatial-data visualizations for print, multi-media, and mobile environments.
