With a bachelor's degree from UAB, you'll be primed for a variety of careers in fields such as healthcare, forensics, journalism, research, and education.
But no matter what your future holds, we want to give you a competitive edge by offering research opportunities and an honors program to develop critical thinking and communication. First, you'll need to build a foundation with our core courses of Calculus, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Fundamentals of Biochemistry, and Quantitative Analysis. Then, you can choose from three concentrations, and for each one, a full-time academic advisor will help you stay on track. If you wish to pursue a career in teaching, you'll even be able to earn a certification to teach chemistry or general science through the UABTeach program.
