About Administration/health Services, Phd in University of Alabama At Birmingham
Do you want to advance research in the management of health services administration? We can prepare you for a career in high-level research positions in healthcare or academic settings.
To start, we want to make sure you’re well-rounded in a variety of research areas. That’s why we took the unique approach of bringing together multiple schools to create this program. You’ll study interdisciplinary practices from the School of Health Professions, Collat School of Business, School of Public Health, School of Medicine, and School of Nursing. Faculty members from each of these schools will work together to teach you about conceptual and applied concepts in the field of healthcare administration. By the time you complete the program, you should have the research, administration, and communication skills you need for success in academia, health services, non-profit, government, or another sector.
- More than 100 graduates of this program have taken positions in academia, health care, government, and consulting.
- This is a residential program with full time and part time options.
- Doctoral students can gain valuable experience as guest lectures in master’s level courses or serve in academic roles for undergraduate and master’s level courses.
An applicant should already possess a master's degree in a relevant discipline or have completed an undergraduate program with an outstanding record. Completed applications of well-qualified candidates received by January 1 may be considered for early admission. The application deadline is March 15. Although applications may be considered after March 15, admission and financial aid priority is given to those applicants whose materials are complete by January 1. Applications submitted after January 1 would be considered on a space-available basis only.
English Language Requirements
TOEFL (UAB code: 1856):
- TOEFL (minimum composite score of 80 and a minimum score of 20 for each section) and TWE for international applicants whose native language is not English.
IELTS: 6.5 overall with at least a 6.0 on each section of the examination
