About Master Of Engineering In Biomedical Engineering in Texas A&M University
The Master of Engineering (MEng) program in biomedical engineering offers a flexible BioInnovation-based curriculum that equips students for success by allowing them to tailor their training toward different aspects of the biomedical product life cycle. Students in the MEng program can further their engineering education with the aim of entering the medical device industry; advance their careers in the medical device industry; change their careers to enter the medical device industry; or simply refresh and enhance their technical and management skills with a focus on the medical device industry. Through the program, students are enabled with the skills to enter the medtech industry and solve critical engineering challenges/business interface challenges in health care. They collaborate with industry and clinicians to identify unmet needs, engineer technologies that address these needs and develop paths-to-market for these technologies.
Most students admitted into this program have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent field. However, if the degree is not in engineering, leveling courses will be required.
The program includes a mandatory immersion experience providing students the opportunity to receive specialized training through industry internships/externships, BioInnovation via translational research (product development/entrepreneurship) or clinical innovation (Biodesign immersion). Our students graduate with real-world professional skills spanning the healthcare product life cycle, covering important topics such as problem/needs definition, requirements development, technology assessment/intellectual property, detailed design and engineering, advanced manufacturing, risk analysis, design verification and validation, quality engineering, regulatory and reimbursement strategies, and market analysis/assessment.

- TOEFL : Minimum TOEFL i-BT score of 80
- IELTS : Minimum IELTS Academic test score of 6.0 overall band (Texas A&M University does not accept the IELTS General test)
