About Corporate Accounting & Finance Major in Suffolk University
The Corporate Accounting & Finance major combines finance principles with accounting practices to prepare you for a career in corporate finance. This major provides students with a strong background in financial accounting in addition to financial analysis and decision making that is required for positions such as CFO or financial manager.
Students will develop an understanding of capital structure, financial planning and analysis, and project valuation which will help them determine where and how to invest corporate funds.
Suffolk’s new Corporate Accounting and Finance major has been mapped to the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam and has been designed to meet the high-quality education standards required to enable students to earn the CMA designation. Suffolk is in the process of applying for Higher Ed endorsement by The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) for accounting degree programs. If Suffolk receives IMA endorsement, it will join 50 programs nationwide to have earned this prestigious certification.
