About B.s. In Surveying Engineering Technology in Rowan University
Rowan University’s Bachelor of Science in Surveying Engineering Technology is designed in conjunction with the New Jersey Society of Professional Land Surveyors to meet the increasing demand for professional land surveyors. This is a four-year degree required to become licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in New Jersey. The program does not guarantee licensure but is a required step in the process.
The program provides three pathways for students interested in this career:
High school students or those with no college credits
Students interested in starting the program as a freshman begin the degree at Rowan College at South Jersey (RCSJ). Through the 3 + 1 degree completion program partnership between Rowan University and RCSJ, students complete the associate degree track at RCSJ, then transfer into the B.S. program at Rowan University.
Those who possess an Associate's Degree or some college credit
Surveying technicians working in the field who have an Associate’s Degree or some college credit can apply to the program as a degree completion or transfer student depending upon the amount of transferable credits.
Graduates with a Civil Engineering or related degree
Those who already have an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or other geospatial degrees and want to become a licensed land surveyor can apply for a second bachelor’s degree and must complete 30+ credits in the program depending on previous coursework.
