About Public Health ‣ Masters in Purdue University
Public Health professionals conduct research, educate and engage with communities to promote the health of populations. The graduate program in public health emphasizes experiential learning coupled with sound science based training. Particular strengths of our department include, family and community health, health statistics, epidemiology, women’s health issues, global health and health disparities. Graduate degrees offered in the department include a nationally accredited Master of Public Health (MPH) degree that may be obtained on the West Lafayette campus, fully online or a hybrid of the two as well as research-based Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Public Health. Graduates of the MPH degree are in high demand for employment in a variety of nonprofit, private, University, healthcare and government settings. The MPH also pairs well with other clinical and research degrees. An expedited process is available for a pursuing dual degrees (MS/MA/PhD + MPH). MS and PhD graduates are well-equipped to take on roles in research, higher education and administration.
