If you enjoy physical activity, science, research, or hands-on experiences with real clients, Kinesiology is a perfect fit.
Kinesiology is based on the idea of studying human movement and sport from the point of view of sub-disciplines in kinesiology. The curriculum includes courses in exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor control, motor development, and sport and exercise psychology. Students will choose five advanced courses, based on their interests, to further develop their knowledge. Students also have the opportunity to work with a professor to conduct research in a specific area of Kinesiology.
Students in this major can choose to pursue optional concentrations in Clinical Exercise Physiology and/or Sports Medicine.
Kinesiology offers excellent preparation for students who plan to attend graduate school in an area of kinesiology or professional school. Examples include athletic training, physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), medicine, physician assistant (PA), chiropractic, biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor learning, motor development, sport and exercise psychology, etc.
