About Construction Engineering, B.s. in New York Institute of Technology
The B.S. in Construction Engineering gives you a strong fundamental knowledge of engineering design and management principles. You’ll learn how to apply design theory and practices to produce solutions that support public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
As the only B.S. Construction program offered in the New York tri-state area, your studies will include engineering mechanics and graphics, survey and geomatics, construction materials, building construction, concrete and steel structure design, construction management, cost estimating, planning and scheduling, and project management.
You’ll gain additional learning experiences from rich resources that include our Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center, engineering clubs (ASME, SAE, NSBE), and undergraduate research opportunities alongside faculty members as part of our Undergraduate Research & Entrepreneurial Program (UREP).
In your senior year, you’ll complete a capstone design project using the skills developed throughout the curriculum that address economic issues appropriate to the effective practice of engineering and showcasing your written language and oral communication skills.
