About Hospitality & Tourism in Eastern Illinois University
The hospitality and tourism industry is one of the largest in the world and provides graduates with global opportunities to be managers in dynamic settings such as hotels, events and meetings, convention centers, restaurants, resorts, country clubs, and amusement parks. In addition to courses in hospitality and tourism, students complete either a Business Administration minor or an Entrepreneurship minor, two industry-related work experiences, and other experiential-based learning activities such as The Cafe lab, field trips, and student organizations. Our graduates work for major companies across the country, such as Holiday Inn, Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants, Sodexo, and Disney, as well as in event, meeting, and wedding planning for companies, professional associations, event centers, and convention and visitors bureaus.
