About Football Business Management BA (hons) in York St John University
This course will provide you with both a specialised knowledge of football management and a broader understanding of business processes. You will gain skills and knowledge that will prepare you for any business management role, giving you plenty of options when you graduate. Meanwhile your specialist modules will explore the complexities unique to football related businesses. This includes:
- Sponsorship and naming rights
- Sport marketing
- Fandom and consumer behaviour
- People management
- Football venue and facility management
- The globalisation of football
- Public relations in football management.
We have many connections in the football industry, from amateur to professional level, and you will be able to take advantage of our growing network. You will hear from guest lecturers who are industry professionals, visit sites such as FA, UEFA and club venues, and have opportunities to take part in placements with some of these partners. This allows you to gain professional experience and expand your own network. These partners also contribute to the development of our curriculum and assessments, ensuring your learning is kept relevant to the contemporary football world.
This course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). You will receive a professional qualification (Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership) alongside your degree.
As with all of our Business courses, you have the option to go on a placement year between years 2 and 3 of your degree. You can also choose to study abroad for a semester at one of our partner universities.
