About Financial And Investment Management Bsc (hons) in York St John University
This course will provide you with a firm understanding of how finance, financial markets and investment analysis interact. You will focus on both theory and practical application, developing a solid understanding of key areas such as:
- Corporate finance
- Quantitative analysis
- Investment portfolio management
- Economics
- Regulation and ethics.
You will learn how to apply these theories and concepts in financial markets. With a clear focus on your employability, you will have the opportunity to gain additional globally recognised qualification, including:
- Level 3 Certificate in Introduction to Investment accredited by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI)
- Investment Foundation program accredited by the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA)
- A qualification from Bloomberg.
There will also be opportunities to engage with practising industry professionals, such as financial advisors and entrepreneurs. You will take part in work-related experiences and internships to gain experience of working in the industry. Through an exciting programme of guest speakers and training consultants from the likes of the Bank of England and the London stock Exchange, you will further enhance your knowledge and skills.
As with all of our Business courses, you have the option to go on a placement year between years 2 and 3 of your degree. You can also choose to study abroad for a semester at one of our partner universities.
