About Creative Writing And Screenwriting BA (hons) in University of Worcester
Both creative writing and screenwriting are practice-based subjects - you learn primarily through doing. Our joint honours course is designed to support your writing development within broader contemporary writing contexts and contexts of relevant theory. Integral to both is your growing understanding of the professional and employment opportunities that may be available to you once you have graduated.
Creative writing aims to nurture your confidence as a writer and to support your development as a critical and skilful analyst of writing. You'll also develop your commercial practice (writing for magazines, reviewing, scriptwriting, editing) and understanding of the publishing industry. Studying screenwriting allows you to learn through practice whilst being taught by practitioners with extensive knowledge and experience in varied industry backgrounds.
The course takes an innovative approach, with modules on craft and voice, creativity and collaboration and professionalism and employment. In combination, Creative Writing and Screenwriting will be an interesting prospect if writing and today’s rich variety of associated cultural forms and communication is your obsession and what excites your curiosity.
