About Theoretical Physics With A Year In Industry Bsc in University of Sheffield

The year in industry is a one-year extension of the BSc Theoretical Physics degree. A year in industry will put your academic studies into context, and improve your skills and your employability.

This course emphasises the use of theoretical and mathematical approaches to understanding the laws of physics. You can choose further mathematics modules, and broaden your experience with project work too.

You will spend a year between levels two and three on your work placement. You'll complete a theoretical or computational project in your third year, and independent directed reading on a theoretical topic of your choice.

If you want to study physics, but don't meet the entry requirements to go straight into the first year, our Physics with a Foundation Year could be for you. After successfully completing the one-year programme, you'll progress onto the first year of your chosen degree.

International Baccalaureate 34, 6, 5 in Higher Level Maths and Physics

English language requirements 

You must demonstrate that your English is good enough for you to successfully complete your course. For this course we require: GCSE English Language at grade 4/C; IELTS grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component; or an alternative acceptable English language qualification
