MSc/MA Sport with specific pathways in:
Students study six modules over one year, if full time, or two years if studying part time. The programme supports you to develop your knowledge and understanding of key aspects of your chosen pathway and is aimed at individuals that have a prior knowledge of, or keen interest in, Sport Physiology, or Psychology, or Management or Sport Media and Digital Marketing. The module design allows students to negotiate the specific topics covered within the module allowing students to not only study the general topic area but specific areas within the subject that are student focused.
You will follow subject specific and Research Methods modules and undertake research study in your area of interest that again gives an individual focus. You will study Contentious and Contemporary Issues in Sport which allows you to learn relevant, negotiated and cutting-edge topics working independently with the support of tutor supervisors.
The Dissemination module supports you to disseminate your research findings for conference presentations, submission to peer review journals, or specialized subject-specific media or to a wider audience.
To improve your employability, apply your skills and build your social capital, you will complete 240 hours of Applied Practice in a stimulating, well-structured and research-informed module which could be in one of a range of areas including Applied Athlete Support, Exercise Health and Physical Activity, Sport Science, Sport Management or Sports Media.
