MSc Advanced Industrial Practice (Wastes Management) is aimed specifically at those in positions of responsibly working in Wastes Management who want to develop their expertise within their current profession. Course Details
Recognising Industrial Practice
An innovative application of APEL in work-based learning contexts, the Recognising Industrial Practice module, provides a useful, critical and reflective mechanism that can be used by individuals and organisations as part of a customised and flexible programme of study. You will be required to produce a critical reflective statement based on your industrial experience to date, addressing the competencies to achieve CIWM membership status. The University and CIWM will support you in a variety of ways, including workshops, and tutorials/specific guidance on a range of topics such as critical thinking and reflective writing.
Negotiated Work Based Learning
Successful completion of the Recognising Industrial Practice module will provide you with a more forward-looking perspective to allow you to both identify and negotiate new projects/work-related activities. The negotiated learning will be defined in the context of a Learning Contract, negotiated between yourself, the University and, where appropriate, your employer.
Industrial Practice Research Project
You will be provided with the necessary tools needed to enable you to conduct your Research Project to the highest possible standards, and to develop as a successful, independent researchers.
