About Music Performance Bmus(hons) in University of Huddersfield
If you are a classical, jazz, or popular musician who wants to focus on developing your performance skills to an exceptional level, then this course is for you. It is designed for expert musicians with a passion for solo work, band and ensemble performance, and improvisation across a variety of styles and contexts. You'll also have opportunities to study composition, songwriting, musicology, and technology modules that will enhance and support your development as a performer.
- You will study in state-of-the-art professional standard facilities, with access to a range of rehearsal spaces, industry-standard recording studios, two dedicated concert halls, and a large selection of equipment and instruments.
- You’ll be taught by leading academics, a number of whom are also professional performers with active international careers as soloists and ensemble members.
- You’ll have up to 20 hours of individual tuition per year on your main study, provided by our team of expert instrumental and vocal tutors and supplemented by a range of masterclasses and workshops by visiting professionals.

- You’ll be involved in an array of ensembles, choirs and bands, including orchestra, symphonic winds, brass band, various classical and pop choirs, big band, funk, soul, folk and reggae groups, and your own originals bands.
Entry Requirements
- You may be considered for entry onto Undergraduate courses if your Standard XII award (i.e. HSSC) was awarded by CBSE, CISCE or Metro state boards. Otherwise you may need to complete an access (foundation) programme.
English language requirements
- IELTS :6.0 with no lower than 5.5 in any element.
