Study paramedic science with us and benefit from our strong links with the London Ambulance Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service, where you will undertake your clinical work-based practice.
This paramedic science degree, run by experienced paramedics and healthcare educators, will prepare you for challenging roles on the front line of emergency care. Our course combines academic study with clinical placements where a range of health professionals will assist in your paramedic training.
Students studying at Avery Hill Campus will undertake a clinical work-based practice with the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust. Medway Campus students will work with South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. This degree will prepare you to apply to register with the Health and Care Professions Council as a paramedic.

Careers and placements
Will I have a work placement?
The Medway-based programme has been developed in partnership with South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. The London based programme at our Avery Hill campus has been developed in partnership with the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
What sort of careers do graduates pursue?
On completion of your degree, you will be eligible to apply for professional registration as a Paramedic with the Health and Care Professions Council. Once registered, you can pursue the various roles that paramedics fulfil in the acute and primary care sectors. As a paramedic, you may work in NHS ambulance trusts or in offshore and remote locations. Supportive roles are also available within specialist services such as the neonate transfer service, air ambulance team and the hazardous area response team. Opportunities are also available in minor injury units and GP surgery's.
