About Biology, Mbiol in University of Greenwich

Delivered by the School of Science and the Natural Resources Institute, this degree provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary understanding of biology, with diverse topics including cancer therapeutics, plant ecology and neuroscience. You will also carry out two research projects, developing the analytical and problem-solving skills sought by employers.

The course has an international focus, enabling you to learn from global experts and undertake field trips and work placements abroad. You will emerge with the skills to address some of mankind's most challenging problems, from how to feed a growing population in a changing climate to treating Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.

The MBiol provides an extensive range of career opportunities. These include industrial and medical research in government or commercial laboratories, or consultancy work in areas such as biomedical science, biotechnology or agribusiness. You could also follow this course with a research degree, such as a PhD.

Academic Entry Requirements

Undergraduate Degrees (Bachelor's)

For entry to our four-year extended degree programmes, you will need to have met the following:

• Standard XII with a minimum of 50%
• 70% in English in Standard XII or English language requirements

For standard entry to our Bachelor's programmes, you will need to have met the following:

• Standard XII with a minimum of 60%(70% for Law, Architecture)
• 70% in English in Standard XII or English language requirements

Some Bachelor's degrees allow advanced entry to year 2 or year 3, depending on your study history.

For advanced entry to Year 2 you will need to complete:

• Year 1 of a relevant degree with a minimum of 55%

You must show your English language skills to complete your course. Requirements vary by course and level, but the good news is, you don't have to wait to reach the required level before you apply.

Here's what you need:

• IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component

For some undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses, you need:

• IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component

For MPhil/PhD postgraduate research degrees, you need:

• IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in each component

For many of our extended degree programmes, you will need:

• IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
