This is one of the first MSc courses in the UK to cover these leading-edge technologies. It provides you with the advanced knowledge and skills to contribute to the design and development of big data systems as well as distributed/internet-enabled decision support application software systems. You will be well-versed in the use of appropriate technologies, architectures and techniques (e.g. data analytics, machine learning, business intelligence, NoSQL, data mining, data warehousing, distributed data management and technologies, Hadoop, Python, R).
The modules on this course take a software engineering approach to building applications. They focus on modern software engineering methods, tools and techniques, so you develop an integrated life-cycle software development view.
