About Bsc (hons) Nursing (adult) in University of East London (UEL)

Adult nursing is a highly rewarding and challenging career which will provide you with a combination of practical and theoretical training to achieve a qualification that will allow you to make an important contribution to providing care to adults of all ages, cultures and beliefs.
At UEL, we work with a number of local leading trust partners who offer innovative placement experiences that span both physical and mental health. You will experience a broad range of environments for you to develop the knowledge skills and behaviours required to develop confidence and experience in adult nursing. The nursing programme at UEL thrives on the supportive relationship with practice partners across the communities of East London and serves to support the health and social care needs of the local population. You will gain experience in delivering patient centred care for people who may wish to be cared for at home, in a community setting or in a hospital setting. You will support patients to make decisions about their healthcare needs and support those who may have complex healthcare needs. You will be working in a rapidly developing environment with evolving new technologies and new ways of delivering healthcare where you will play a pro-active part of an inter-professional team.
Nursing at UEL will provide you with a strong foundation for becoming an accountable evidenced based nurse with the leadership skills to support high quality care in the local community of East London and beyond.
Advanced entry
If you have one of the following, you may be considered for entry with Advanced Standing
- HSC (year 12) / Intermediate Exam for Class XII
60% or above
- A 3 or 4 year technical diploma with grades of 55% or above
- 2 years of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject
- An Edexcel HND
Undergraduate degree courses
To study for an undergraduate degree, you are normally required to have completed the SSC (Year 10) with good grades and HSC (Year 12) with 60% or above.
English language requirements
To study at UEL you must demonstrate that your English level is high enough for university study. We accept a number of different Secure English Language Tests (SELT) for entry onto our degree courses, with IELTS being the most common. English language requirements vary slightly from subject to subject.
We also accept the following:
- 12th Standard National Education Boards (CBSE/CICSE) including English Core; English Comm. or Functional English
60% or above
- 12th Standard HSC if studied in English medium throughout their studies
60% or above (Maharashtra/ West Bengal/ Karnataka/ Delhi/ Tamil Nadu) state boards only
65% or above (Kerala) state board
70% or above (All Other) state boards
Undergraduate standard requirements
The English language entry requirement for undergraduate (Bachelor's) course is a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or 6, or equivalent, depending on the course and year or level of entry. The specific requirements for your chosen course, including individual component scores, will be outlined as one of the academic conditions if you are made an offer.
