About Msc Social Work in University of Dundee
This course provides you with the professional accreditation required to undertake a career in social work or in one of the professions allied to social work. It combines theory with practice, with considerable engagement with service users and social work professionals, whose experiences and perspectives have contributed to the development of this highly regarded course.
Reflecting the multi-disciplinary context in which social work operates as a profession, the course is delivered within the School of Education and Social Work. Carers and Users Group
You will work closely and innovatively with our Carers and Users group, which will provide you with crucial perspectives and experiences of service users and carers.

We have leading researchers in a broad range of areas including health and social care integration, disability, criminal justice and child protection. This expertise underpins the course content and the emphasis on the importance of research informed practice.

Academic qualification equivalents

Bachelor’s degree with 55% or above considered from University of Delhi, University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, IITs and IIMs (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree)
Bachelor’s degree with 60% or above required from other institutions (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree)
A Bachelor’s degree with 50% or above may be considered comparable to a UK 2.2 degree.
English language requirements (one of the below):
- IELTS: The requirement for most undergraduate and postgraduate degrees is IELTS 6.5 overall with a 6.0 in writing and 6.0/5.5 minimum in the other three components.
- TOEFL (iBT): 88 overall, including at least 21 in Listening, 20 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, 23 in Writing.
- PTE: 62 overall, including at least 56 in all four skills
