Msc Quality Improvement And Patient Safety in University of Dundee
This course has been designed to offer flexible, inclusive and contemporary content which is relevant to students across local, national and international healthcare settings. The generic nature of quality improvement and patient safety also allows students from all healthcare backgrounds and specialities to come together and share their knowledge and experiences.
The course will develop your knowledge and understanding and equip you with the ability to influence and lead on quality improvement and patient safety activities in practice. You will explore the related theories, principles and culture. It will encourage you to critically analyse a range of tools and approaches associated with quality improvement and patient safety and to reflect on their application to service delivery.
There are two intakes per year (September and January), and the course is delivered on a modular basis over three and a half years. You will complete a core research module to develop your critical analysis of healthcare research, a core quality improvement module and a core risk and patient safety module. You will then undertake a final option module of your choice. After completing these four modules you will progress to your dissertation and you will be allocated a supervisor.
The course is delivered by a team with an international reputation for designing and delivering high quality, flexible, postgraduate courses. As well as a wealth of experience in online learning, the team provides relevant expertise and experience through the involvement of NHS colleagues currently working within the clinical environment and routinely applying, teaching and supporting the use of quality improvement and patient safety approaches.
