Staff provide tuition, insight and guidance across a wide range of disciplines within the music industry including music composition, song-writing, recording, production, performance, sound design and research. Throughout their study, students will benefit from master classes, enabling them to engage directly with knowledge and techniques presented by world-leading practitioners.
The degree works closely with UCLan Recordings Group, a modern-day record label and music organisation designed to give students exposure to key aspect of the contemporary music industry during their study. Fusing academia and industry, this university based organisation provides opportunities for students to work with accomplished musicians and music business practitioners within a framework designed to support and help develop student and alumni careers. Music Production and Performance is a Certified Avid Learning Partner for Pro Tools enabling students to gain industry-standard training required.
OPPORTUNITIES
Students have the opportunity to work with The Global Sound Movement. Through sound based recording projects GSM travel to and work with international communities in their natural setting to sample unique, hand built instruments of ethnic significance. Students have previously benefitted from trips to, Bali, Beijing, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Morocco, Uganda, and Yunnan.
