New technologies are completely transforming the world we live in. In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of the many changes that we are going to see in the coming years on how machines operate. You will gain a deep understanding of intelligent machines and be able to develop Mechatronics systems which include,Electromechanical Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, robotics, precision technologies, systems engineering and engineering management. You will work alongside our research active staff with the possibility of continuing on to PhD research. Students will have the opportunity to work closely in industrial, research, and EU projects.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND ASSESSMENT

A 3 year degree qualification typically comprises 360 credits and each 20 credit (a standard module) equates to 200 hours of study, which comprises of a mixture of lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical sessions and independent study. Independent study is an important aspect of your degree course. The exact combination of study time will be detailed within your module descriptors, and will depend on your option choices.

The course adopts a range of approaches to the delivery of curriculum including: case studies, lectures, practical sessions, independent learning guided by a tutor and tutorial sessions.

Assessment of learning is conducted by a range of methods including: tutorial questions, examination, use of online assessment via Blackboard questions, extended assignments, presentations, poster defence and written reports.
