On the BA (Hons) Fashion Design course, you will have the opportunity to transform your two dimensional design ideas into creative clothes. Our lecturers have worked at the top of the industry, for brands like YSL, Ted Baker and Debenhams, and many staff are still involved on a part-time basis, so latest practice can be quickly incorporated into the course.
Areas covered include; womenswear and menswear design, research skills, design development, range building, pattern cutting - traditional and experimental, professional production techniques, knitwear design, 'live' projects with industry, fashion illustration and presentation techniques, CAD Design, lat drawing, trend prediction, fabric exploration, preparation for industry and design history.
LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND ASSESSMENT
A 3 year degree qualification typically comprises 360 credits and each 20 credit (a standard module) equates to 200 hours of study, which comprises of a mixture of lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical sessions and independent study. Independent study is an important aspect of your degree course. The exact combination of study time will be detailed within your module descriptors, and will depend on your option choices.
