This degree course has a distinct emphasis on practical learning and you’ll develop core business skills in key areas such as problem solving, decision making, team working and communications. You are encouraged to put theory into practice and will have the option of undertaking a one year paid placement, as well as short-term internships. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in some consultancy practice ensuring you have the awareness and skills to succeed in the changing world of business.

The Business and Management programme has an optional sandwich year within the degree programme with the goal of producing capable, employable graduates. Business and Management aims to develop an understanding of how organisations operate and the importance of effective management. Throughout the degree students will develop practical managerial and communication skills and decision making. Students also have an opportunity to study modules in International Business.
You will develop knowledge and skills with a broad understanding in the underpinning theories of business and management. By the end of the programme you will be an independent learner with the skills, knowledge and experience to make informed decisions about your future career.
The Business School's state-of-the-art Greenbank and Brook buildings are in the middle of the campus offering a comprehensive range of study, learning and social facilities including a cybercafé and easy access PC workstation rooms.

We have a strong business network between local and national businesses which you will benefit from, for example, there is an opportunity to attend guest speaker events, which are organised in conjunction with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CiM). The School also offers a number of electives and options that provide students with an opportunity to gain an additional professional body qualification.
