The midwifery degree course at Teesside University provides you with the knowledge and skills to develop an exciting and rewarding career. Midwives work in partnership with women and their families and provide support, advice and care to enable them to make informed choices during pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
The midwife’s role encompasses health promotion and health education to enhance the health of women and their families within a multicultural society. Midwifery requires competent, accountable and problem-solving practitioners, with good communication skills. The midwife works within a multidisciplinary, multi agency team to promote health and wellbeing and a better birth experience.
