About Esports in Staffordshire University
Sponsored by TeamSpeak, our BA (Hons) Esports course will give you the expertise you need to host small and large scale events within both practical and technical environments. Developing your skills to create events ranging from small LANs to full scale online events, creating business plans, online communities and promote your events through digital marketing. You will also get the opportunity to explore the culture of esports, its audience and fan base as well as a variety of the most popular current game genres. As the sector grows, the ethical and legislative regulations are trying to keep pace, you will learn what is happening in the industry right now and how these issues are affecting the esports environment.
Following a successful three years, our first graduates are now working in a wide variety of industry standard roles such as epsorts events management and broadcasting.
The success in these two areas will see a unique partnership between games and events to create a truly outstanding experience in the UK market.
Our academics come from a variety of backgrounds, including marketing, games design, interactive media technology, event management and PhD research.
- Join one of our competitive societies including games such as: League of Legends, DOTA2, Valorant, Call of Duty, Counter Strike, Overwatch and Super Smash Bros and compete in events in the UK and overseas.
- Take part in UK and International varsities such as NUEL and NSE
- Visit esports events in the UK
- Study digital marketing
- Plan, develop and implement esports events, growing in scale throughout your progression on the course. Utilise the skills you develop, specialising in the area that aligns to your interest
- You will be taught in a dedicated Esports Lab and broadcast facility with all the latest industry standard software and hardware.
Entry requirements
To apply for an undergraduate (bachelors) degree you need one of the following qualifications:
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) / Standard 12/ XII with a minimum score of 65% overall
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with 28 points overall
- Successful completion of a relevant International Foundation Year from a recognised UK Institution
