Strength and Conditioning practitioners must employ a wide range of underpinning knowledge, practical skills and applied techniques to meet the requirements of such a highly specialised role. This course will equip and challenge you to evaluate the physical elements of sport performance, develop tailored strength and conditioning interventions, monitor and evaluate training as well as developing your practical coaching skills through experiential learning.
Employers emphasise the importance of coaching skills and the ability to deliver them in many different settings. This course provides you with the opportunity to become career-ready from both a theoretical, scientific standpoint as well as a pedagogical, coaching perspective.
Live Projects
This course has been designed to situate you in real-world learning environments, to give you the opportunity to undertake work with real athletes as part of your programme of study. This gives you the opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and understanding in the applied setting, to develop your skills and confidence as a practitioner in the field.
Work Placements
You will have the opportunity to arrange and undertake a work placement as part of an extended body of work that you complete to obtain the MSc award. This gives you real-world experience to prepare you for your future career, and is an opportunity to undertake an extended piece of work to improve practice in the applied setting. Our students have worked in professional clubs and teams, and even chosen to undertake placements abroad in sporting organisations around the world.

Postgraduate taught programmes (masters)
The following qualifications will be considered for entry on to postgraduate taught programmes,
- three year Bachelor Degree with a minimum score of between 55 to 60 per cent or above (from a reputable university)
- four year Bachelor Degree with a minimum score of 55 per cent or above (from a reputable university)
- Successful completion of a recognised pre-masters course
