About Public Services Mres in Queen Mary University of London
This pre-doctoral training programme is designed to provide a critical, research-led approach to public services. You will gain a firm understanding of the complex arena in which organisations operate, together with training in research skills appropriate for doctoral-level study.
You will choose from a broad range of modules to supplement your own research. You could focus on public management and governance, human resource management in the public services, public financial management and accounting, and other varied aspects of the sector. This array of subjects will give you preparation for a career in public services, as well as for those aiming to undertake a PhD.
You will also cover core modules in research design, qualitative and quantitative methods. This gives you the opportunity to expand your professional network, as you share these modules with students from King’s College London and Imperial College, as part of the training offered by the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS-DTP).
This course is an approved pathway for ESRC funding, which could cover the costs of both this MRes and a PhD.
