About Criminology Bsc (hons) in Oxford Brookes University
On our Criminology degree you will tackle some of the most fundamental questions behind what makes an act or action a crime.
You will look at:
- historical and modern patterns of crime
- how perspectives of crime have changed over time
- contemporary criminal justice
- crime policy
- anti-social behaviour and disorder.
The course will include a mix of theory and practical work. You’ll explore criminology from three main perspectives:
- crime and history
- criminological theory
- criminal justice policy and processes.
You will have the chance to apply your learning in a practical setting through our work based module.
To ensure the course remains relevant to the practice of criminology and provides insight into professional careers, we maintain partnerships with:
- the Thames Valley Police
- relevant NGOs
- HM Prison service
- legal professionals.
