About Fdsc Chemistry in Nottingham Trent University
This course is designed to prepare you for further study or for a career in chemistry related disciplines. It’s ideal if you’ve not quite achieved the grades you wanted or if you’re a mature student who wants to get back into education.
The course is really flexible, giving you the opportunity to specialise in pharmaceutical chemistry, materials chemistry or environmental chemistry in your second year. Many of our students also go on to complete the BSc (Hggons) Chemistry course after successfully completing the foundation degree qualification.
Throughout the course, you’ll develop a broad knowledge base which is practical in nature, giving you the skills to apply chemical sciences in a professional working environment.

This course does not include an optional placement year. However, it does include work experience modules and industry-related projects that will give you excellent experience and allow you to apply your skills in a vocational environment.

Nottingham Trent University Admission Procedure
- Application: The UG applications are accepted through ‘Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS)’ and PG applications through the ‘NTU applicant portal’.
- Application fee: One needs to pay £13 for 1 UG course and £24 for multiple UG courses.
- Application deadlines: For UG students the last date to apply is June 30, 2019. The PG programs don’t have any official deadline, however, it is better to apply one month prior to course start date.
- General requirements: Completed application form, academic transcripts, and English proficiency tests.
- Additional requirements: Birth certificate, passport copy, LOR.
English Proficiency Test: Majority of the courses require IELTS score ranging between 6.0 and 6.0 for entry. However, other equivalent English test scores are also acceptable.
